A rainy day on King's Parade, with a man walking under an umbrella

A rainy day in Cambridge

Chapels, galleries and warm glasshouses: the best of Cambridge with a roof over it.

Cambridge in the rain is still Cambridge: the stone glows, the crowds thin out, and some of the best things to see are indoors anyway.

This route keeps you dry for most of the day and never more than ten minutes' walk from the next roof.

  • An umbrella beats a hood on narrow pavements.
  • The museum is busiest on wet weekend afternoons; go earlier.
  • Your pass doesn't start until your first check-in, so if the forecast is bad you can save it for another day.
